All I Want For Christmas

Happy Saturday to everyone!  Today I am sharing a layout for the Lasting Memories challenge.  I was hoping to squeeze in one more layout  before the end of the year.  We visited Santa in November and my kids told him what they wanted for Christmas.  They never write a Christmas list, I guess they are a little lazy when it comes to that.  I found the Christmas trees and cute title on the Winter Frolic cartridge and thought it was perfect.   I looked through my stamp stash and found the sentiment Be Your Best Elf, a Studio G stamp.  I added some tags from the Plantin Schoolbook cartridge so I could do some journaling.  I wanted to make sure I included everything on their wish list so I can remember in the future.

Lasting Memories Challenge

Here is a double layout for the Lasting Memories Challenge.  Another summer layout.  Boy, do I miss summer time. We had so much fun in our pool and at the beach.  My husband surprised the kids this summer with a slip n slide.   They were a little skeptical at first but once they saw mommy and daddy do it they were in.   So many laughs and great memories.
Sorry for the washed out photos.  I was in a rush to get this posted.

Fantabulous Cricut Challenge

The Fantabulous Cricut challenge this week is, Bells are Ringing.  The prize for this week's challenge is the Snow Folks cartridge (so kindly donated by Erica's Craft Room).  This one is on my wish list and so I decided to give the challenge a whirl even though I do not own a cartridge with a bell die cut.  My bells were cut from the Christmas Cookie Collection from SVG Cuts.  My card base and circles were cut with Birthday Bash.   Love the shaped cards on that cartridge. I used Bazzill cardstock and DCWV 'Tis the Season paper pack.  I added some faux stitching around the bells edges, a poinsettia brad to the top of the bells and of course some bling.  A super simple card.

Simply Crafts December Challenge

I made a shaped card for the December Challenge at Simply Crafts.  The challenge is to use the reindeer on the Doodlecharms cartridge.  I must admit this is not one of my  favorite cartridges or images.  I've seen some really cute reindeer die cuts on other cartridges but I don't own any of them.  I decided to try and make this ordinary reindeer a little girly and a lot cuter.  I embossed the antlers with my Cuttlebug distressed stripes folder and inked it up a little.  I also added an adorable red bow from the Create A Critter cartridge and finished it off with Peachy Keen faces and some stitching around the edges.  Glossy Accents, a little bling and viola!  My girly reindeer.

I used my Scrappy Moms stamps for the sentiment inside.

I am planning to use these cards as gift card holders for teachers gifts.  I hope they like them.  I made two different reindeer so I can remember which teacher gets which card.

Gift Card Holder with a Christmas Twist

It's cold and raining here today.  The kind of day you just want to hide out in your house with a warm cup of tea, a good book and a cozy blanket.  Unfortunately, that is not my reality today.  Uggghhh
This past weekend I had a chance to make a gift card holder for my son's religious education teacher.  She loves Dunkin' Donuts so I am planning to give her a Dunkin' Donut gift card.  I've made this gift card holder in the past but I decided to give it a Christmas twist. I used one of my favorite Scrappy Mom's stamps sets, Winter Wishes.  I am totally over the moon with Recollections paper pack, Sugar Plums.  I think I picked it up last year or this year.  I can't remember but I love the colors so much.

Supplies:
Cartridge:  Love you Latte
Stamps:  Scrappy Moms Winter Wishes
Ink:  Color Box Dark Brown
Embellishments:  Dear Lizzy Brad, Pop Dots

My Favorite Layout To Date

Yes, you read my title correct, this is my favorite layout to date.  I don't have many scrapbook layouts since I only started scrapping a year ago but this one is my absolute favorite!!  Why is it my favorite? Well, I love the colors in this layout, I love the little girl making a snow angel, I love that I used my Peachy Keen princess faces stamps, I love that the snowman is wearing a hat that my sons has, I love the mitten paper, I love that I finally used a Cricut phrase as my title and I loved that I blinged it up.  So you can see there is a lot of "loves" in this layout.  At first I wasn't going to include the little girl making a snow angel but then I decided to spend nap time cutting her out instead of folding laundry and vacuuming.  I think it was well worth the sacrifice. Let's see what the hubs thinks of that.
I will be including photos from a freak snow storm we had on November 7th.  My kids and I made a snowman and my daughter made her first snow angel.  She had so much fun and looked so cute, just like the little girl on my layout.  Well I'm off to try and clean up before the bus arrives!  Enjoy your weekend!

It's Been A While

I haven't had a post in a long time. Sorry :-(!   I want to catch up on my scrapbooking before the end of the year so I'm hoping to have more posts that include some layouts and hopefully a few cards in between.  Ohhh, and then there is Christmas.  Who am I kidding!!! I'm hoping to make it through the holidays without going crazy.  Anyway, here is my layout for the Sketch N Scrap challenge this week.

This layout makes me miss the summer sooo much.  I absolutely despise the winter and look forward to the summer starting November 1st.  Crazy right???  We are fortunate, to live very close to the beach.  I love it!  Over the summer we met up with some friends for dinner and drink at local restaurant that is on the bay.  It's nice because you get to watch the sunset will sipping mojitos and pina colada's.  Plus, we both got babysitters so it made the night more enjoyable.  I miss warm summer nights and amazing sunsets.  Ohhh well let me check off another day in my summer countdown.
