Lasting Memories Challenge

Lasting Memories has a fun challenge this week.  Pick four items from the hat.  I chose food, title, die cute, and colors.  This layout looks totally different from what I originally had in mind.  Once I started putting it together I started changing everything but in the end I am super excited with it.  This will be the first page in my little girls school scrapbook.  It's bright, cheery and all about a little one in preschool.  What I love most about this layout is the hand print.  It's a SVG file from SVG cuts.  The slide, swingset, and puzzle pieces are also from the set.  I added the date and basic info to the puzzle pieces at the top.  I would like to add a journaling section because there is so much to write about her first day.  I'm not sure if I'm going to add a small square in the middle of the two photos or use the apple as a journaling spot.  What do you think?
First Day of is cut with SCAL and PreSchool is a sticker.

My favorite part, the hand print.

Thanks for your comments about photographing scrapbook pages.  I took this shot in the morning outside and I think it's much better than the other pictures I've taken.  I think the morning light is best.

Goblin Good Time

It's Tuesday and the kiddies are back to school so I thought I would do a quick post before my dryer finishes.  I'm trying to get caught up on weekend laundry.  Today I am sharing a Halloween card.  My first of the season, yes I am behind on my Halloween card making.  I made this card for a few challenges and of course my Hello Kitty lovin' daughter.  She's obsessed with Kitty so I think she will  like this one.

Cutest Pumpkin In The Patch

Happy Friday!  I'm so excited the weekend is here.  I am hoping the weather is good and we can go pumpkin pickin' this weekend.  I love to go pumpkin picking with the kids.  We go on a hayride and go out to a big open field and find that perfect pumpkin or 6!  Last year my kids were all about the small pumpkins, and lots of them. I like one big one for carving.  Let's hope the rain holds off and we can find our pumpkins.  I made a double page layout for my pumpkin pickin' weekend.  My first double page layout.  Can I get a woohoo.  This layout is more formal than I would like but this is the direction it took on when I picked the papers.

So as usual my pictures are terrible.  If anyone can give me some advice on how to photograph scrapbook pages I would truly appreciate it.  I used an older K&Company paper stack and Bazzill cardstock.  I cut part of the title with my Cricut and the other half is a sticker set I picked up a long time ago at Michael's.  The pumpkins are from the Everyday Paperdolls cartridge and the acorn is an SVG.  I found the fabric and gem stone leaves in Michael's dollar bin and the brown cording is also from Michaels.  I was hoping to add some buttons but I didn't have any that matched my layout.  Oh well.
Have a wonderful weekend!

Bottoms Up Baby

I finally have a card to share.  I've been making cards but haven't had time to take pictures and blog about them.  Maybe I've been a little excited with my new paper hobby, scrapbooking.  I know I'm a little late on the scrapbooking band wagon.  Let me show my card crafters a little love.  Speaking of love, I absolutely looooove the way this card came out.  I love it so much that I don't want to give it to the recipient, my mother-in-law.  I'll give it to her anyway because she truly enjoys my handcrafted cards and she helps out a lot.  Thank you!!!
My card is based off of the sketch at Die Cuttin' Divas.  This card came together surprisingly fast.  Most of the papers were cut with my Fiskar's paper trimmer and corner rounder.  The frame for the margarita glass is cut with Elegant Edges.  One of my favorite cartridges.  I love the way I can add a cute frame to a card or scrapbook page and it changes the entire look.  All of my papers are scraps (will that pile ever go down) that I inked.  The margarita glass and title, Bottoms Up, are from a sticker page I got a long time ago at AC Moore.  I stamped the inside of my card with a Scrappy Moms Stamp set.  I hope my Mother-in-law enjoys the card as much as I do.  I have a feeling she will enjoy the margarita mix a lot more!

I was so happy to see the challenge over at Cooking with Cricut, apples or honey in honor of Yom Kippur.  I decided to use apples.  Scrapping my sons first grade class picture has been on my to do list for a year now and I can finally check it off!  Ahhhhhh yeah!  Love accomplishing things on my to do list.  Enough about my crazy to do lists and onto the layout.  I was really hoping to use the apples as a border under the picture but it didn't work with the papers I chose so I decided to accent the title "First Grade" with two apples on either side.  My title is from Kerri Bradford.  The apples are from Doodlecharms and accented with a white gel pen and popped up on dimensionals.  I chose DCWV Grade School paper pack and added the cute pencil from Simply Charmed.  I used my Gypsy to hide his face.  I also used my Martha Stewart Scoring Board to added texture to the pencil. A simple layout but a wonderful way to remember my sons first grade class.

I blocked out all of the kids faces for privacy.  Sorry I don't know how to use photoshop .
