Kickin' It Old School for Scrappy Moms

Today I have a  5.5 x 5.5 card for you.  When I got the Rock Princess cartridge I saw the old school sneaker and  it totally reminded me of the 80's.  It makes me laugh that this style is back.  Bright florescent colors are everywhere.
I've had this idea for a while and was so thrilled when I saw the Scrappy Moms stamps challenge, retro.  I started out by making my card 5.5 x 5.5 to accommodate the large 3 inch sneaker. I printed the phrase "Kickin' It" on my computer with the Destine font and added the phrase "old school" from the Rock Princess cartridge.  I added some Glitter Glue to make it stand out a little more.  I hope you enjoy my super simple but totally tubular 80's card.  Like, see ya later!
Cheesy, I know.

I think this card could be for a guy or girl.  What do you think?

This weekend I am attending my sister-in-laws baby shower.  I am so excited.  My mother-in-law asked me to help out and make some cute items for the shower.  I made a banner, diaper cake and centerpieces all in the theme of twins.  She's due with twin boys in the fall.  I will share photos of my creations after the weekend but first I have some quick shots of her card.  I made this card with the Peachy Keen sketch challenge in mind.

Little Boy Airplane Party

Simply Crafts has a great challenge this month, use the airplane image from the Boys Will Be Boys cartridge.  I don't have that cartridge but I do have the B is for Boy cartridge and there is an airplane on there.  A cute banner and treat bag were the first thing that came to mind.  I've been wanting to make this for my etsy shop for a while and haven't found the time.  Put a challenge in front of me and it gets crossed off the to do list.  I guess I should start entering more challenges  maybe I'll get more done!  Here is my simple yet totally boy end result.

Ice Cream, So Sweet

Happy Friday everyone in blog world.  I have a sweet card for the Fantabulous Cricut challenge this week.  The challenge is summer dessert, i.e. ice cream, popsicle or fruit.  I decided to go with the ice cream/ popsicle theme.  I love ice cream in the summer, I eat it practically everyday. Not good for the waistline but the extra workouts make up for it.  So onto my card, I used a pre-made card base measuring 6.5 x 5.
Here are the rest of the details:

Paper-Bazzill, Recollections and scraps from my stash
Cartridges- Everyday Paper Dolls, Create A Critter, Love You a Latte, DoodleCharms
Stamps-  Peachy Keen, Scrappy Moms Happily Ever After for the So Sweet sentiment and Kids Incorporated for the Ice Cream
Embellishments:  Rhinestones, GellyRoll pens, Ink, Glossy Accents, Swiss Dots Embossing folder

I had so much fun making this card and I'm thrilled with the end result.  I recently purchased the Love You a Latte cartridge and couldn't wait to use it.  I used it to make the Ice Cream shop instead of a coffee shop.  I added some faux stitching to the coffee shop sign and awning.  I also used the Swiss Dots embossing folder on the awning.  I thought it needed a little something extra.  The ice cream sign is from the Scrappy Moms stamp set Kids Incorporated.  The sentiment says I scream, you scream we all scream for ice cream.  I taped over most of the sentiment and inked the ice cream portion only.

I can't wait to give this card to a special little girl I know.  She's turning 7 in a couple of weeks and she sure is sweet.

Main Squeeze

My main squeeze deserves a little something extra in his lunch bag this week so I thought this card would do the trick.  Gotta love that lemon on the Simply Charmed cartridge.  So cute!  I added Peachy Keen Wide Eyed kids stamp to the lemon.  The "main squeeze" sentiment I made on my computer.  I attached it to a toothpick so that it would look like a flag.  The hearts were cut with my NEW Love You a Latte cartridge and the sentiment is from a Fiskars stamp set.  The card base is from Birthday Bash.  I hope my main squeeze likes it.  I hope you do too!
